Christy Crook was recently named a “Top Female Leader” by Commercial Construction & Renovation Magazine

2023 has gotten off to a great start for Phoenix Masonry president and CEO, Christy Crook. That’s because she was recently recognized as one of the top female leaders in the commercial construction industry by Commercial Construction & Renovation Magazine!

Late last year, Christy was nominated for the publication’s third annual Women’s Awards. The editorial team was looking for examples of women in the construction industry who best encapsulated leadership, professionalism, dedication, and commitment. The nominees were expected to set an example for female leadership, acting as ambassadors who lead from the front while serving important roles in both their company and community. The entry form consisted of a single question, “Why is the nominee deserving of this CC&R Award?”

A panel of judges reviewed dozens of candidates who were nominated by their peers. In the end, they made four final selections. Christy Crook and Phoenix Masonry were the first to appear as one of the winners when the magazine’s Jan. 2023 issue hit the newsstands!

Along with Crook, the other women selected as “Top Female Leaders” include:

  • Melissa Hanley, co-founder of Blitz, a multi-disciplinary architectural firm with offices in Denver, Los Angeles, and San Francisco
  • Marie Paris, CEO of Targetti Group North America, a firm that specializes in sophisticated architectural lighting solutions
  • Maria Rioumine, founder and CEO of Kojo, a construction technology firm

Commercial Construction & Renovation Magazine is one of the industry’s leading trade publications. The publication’s mission is to develop and provide content that meets the information needs of today’s high level construction and renovation executives. Specific areas of coverage include articles that cover the design, construction, and facilities management of major commercial construction segments – such as retail, hospitality, restaurants, and other commercial sectors. For commercial construction professionals, the publication provides timely information relevant to the collaborative management process required to complete projects on time, on budget, and with efficient management.

Christy Crook is on a mission in 2023 to raise brand awareness for Phoenix Masonry through targeted media opportunities, speaking engagements, and additional award submissions. Currently, there are many projects in the works, and once these become public, we’ll be sharing these success stories in our social media channels and quarterly newsletters. In the meantime, congrats to Christy for this well-deserved honor!
