Our Team

Christy Crook
Founder and President

Christy Crook, Founder and President of Phoenix Masonry Inc., earned her BA in organizational communication and business management from the Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2002, followed by an international MBA from the University of Denver in 2007. She worked at multiple masonry construction firms in various roles, including safety director and director of business development, until she left to found Phoenix Masonry in 2010.

Active in the community, Christy sits on the board of the American Subcontractors Association as well as Transportation and Construction Girl, a nonprofit that encourages young women to explore careers in the transportation and construction industries. 

She is an active member of the American General Contractors Association, Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute, and the National Association of Women in Construction.

When she’s not working with the community or running Phoenix Masonry, Christy is on the hunt for her next travel adventure, be it the next state over, or halfway around the world.

Brad Steppins
Director of Business Operations

Brad Steppins, Phoenix’s Senior Project Manager, joined the team in 2016.

A native to Missouri, the “Show Me” state, Brad has been married for 39 years. He has two children and in his free time, enjoys watching ice hockey and following the Colorado Avalanche.

Mike Miller
Assistant Project Manager

Mike Miller, Phoenix Masonry’s Assistant Project Manager, was brought into the company in 2019.  Mike is originally from Oklahoma and is a fervent sports fan. He likes watching college football and is sure to attend the NCAA Wrestling Tournament each year. A supportive grandfather, Mike enjoys attending his grandchildren’s’ sports events as well. 

Miranda Krajewski
Project Manager

Miranda Krajewski, Phoenix’s Project Coordinator, joined the company in 2018. She lives an active Colorado lifestyle with her four dogs, three sons, three daughters, and her spouse. Miranda is an avid baseball devotee and enjoys sharing her love for the game with her children. Between team practices and Rockies games, baseball is an important part of her life, and she wouldn’t have it any other way!

Jodi Michel
Account Administrator

Jodi Michel, Account Administrator at Phoenix Masonry, has been with the company since 2012. Originally from Colorado, Jodi loves to escape into the Rocky Mountains to spend time with her husband and three children at their newly finished condo. Her jack russell terrier and flat coat retriever are never far behind on her travels!

Al Koscheski
Foreman

Al Koscheski, one of Phoenix’s adept Foremen, joined the company in 2011. Originally from Oklahoma, Al moved to Colorado in 1993. He has been married 25 wonderful years, and is father to two children, a son and daughter, who both reside in Oklahoma. In his free time, Al enjoys spending time with his family, and playing with his grandnephew, Levi.

Alfredo Lopez Federico
Foreman

Alfredo Lopez hails from Durango, Mexico and is a dedicated Denver Broncos fan. When he isn’t watching football, Alfredo is likely enjoying a good action movie or riding around on one of his ATVs. Alfredo also loves spending time with his family; his wife, three teenage daughters, and their cat, Nina. 

Chris Steppins
Sr. Estimator

Chris Steppins joined Phoenix Masonry in May 2020. Hailing from Southern California, Chris and his wife Diana have a two-year-old daughter who is their entire world. In his free time, Chris enjoys music, skateboarding, hockey, and hanging out with his black lab/border collie mix, Luna, and his tortoiseshell cat, Alice. 

Linda Garcia
Certified Payroll Administrator/Accounts Payable Assistant

Linda Garcia joined our team in October of 2019. Though she retired from Sturgeon Electric in June 2019, she still wanted to contribute to the construction industry and found a good fit with Phoenix. In her free time, Linda enjoys gardening, decorating, and cycling, and during football season you can find her cheering for the Dallas Cowboys and CU Buffs.

Genghis (the office cat)
Director of Pest Management

Genghis was rescued in 2015 and joined the team as director of pest management. He takes  job accountability seriously, occasionally leaving evidence of a successful hunting mission for all to appreciate. An ideal employee, Genghis is always  actively engaged during team meetings. He promptly greets  all participants who enter because he knows each has come just to see him!
